February is National Pet Dental Health Month

Dental hygiene is an important aspect of your pet’s overall health.

The same way that it’s important for people to visit their dentists regularly, it’s important for your pet to visit their vet at least once a year to get their teeth checked out. This yearly check-up is helpful in keeping your pet’s teeth clean as well as finding out if there are any potential health concerns.

Earth Animal No-Hide Chews

Earth Animal No-Hide Chews are a healthier and more digestible alternative to rawhide.

They are 100% free of rawhide and are made with high quality, human grade ingredients. They come in four different flavors, three bone sizes, and a stix option.

Traditional rawhide chews are made from cow hide, which is poorly digestible. No-Hide Chews are made with food ingredients that are highly digestible and healthy for your dogs. No-Hide Chews are basted with a flavored coating, either beef, chicken, pork, or salmon. All proteins are sourced in the United States from humanely-raised animals. The salmon is wild-caught from the Atlantic Ocean. The chews are made in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

The digestibility of No-Hide Chews was tested in comparison to traditional rawhide chews using equivalents of stomach and intestinal juices. This study showed that in an animal’s system the No-Hide has an average digestibility rate of 80%, while traditional rawhide only has an average rate of 18%.

No-Hide Chews are safe for puppies and are a good choice for teething. As with all chews, it is important for puppies and dogs to be supervised when enjoying a No-Hide Chew.

The chewing time for a No-Hide Chew is on average 45 minutes to 1 hour for the bones. Stix have an average chewing time of 15 minutes. However, this chewing time can change depending on the size of the chew, the size of the dog, and the dog’s chewing habits. It’s important to give your dog the appropriate chew for their size.

Small dogs up to 15 lb. – No-Hide Stix
Medium dogs 15-45 lb. – No-Hide Bones 4”
Large dogs 45-75 lb. – No-Hide Bones 7”
Giant dogs 75+ lb. – No-Hide Bones 11”

Paw Thaw Pet Friendly Ice Melter

Winter means cold… Cold means ice… Ice means frozen paws!

Paw Thaw is an ice melter that’s safe, biodegradable, and pet-friendly. What more could you ask for?!

Traditional ice melter contains calcium chloride which creates heat and has the potential to cause pain to your pet’s paws. Rock salt ice melter has a high pH level which dries out pets’ paws and causes them to crack. These ice melters also have adverse effects on grass and vegetation. Paw Thaw, on the other hand, contains calcium magnesium acetate which is biodegradable and much less harmful to grass, trees, and other vegetation. It also contains pH stabilizers which keeps the pH level from getting too high and creating a lot of heat.

Paw Thaw has a fast-acting and a time released formula which creates a very effective ice melter. The deicing blend components break the bond between the ice and the surface and initiates deicing and melting. The time released formula stays on the surface longer, making it more effective.

The non-tracking formula does not harm carpets or floors, it will not damage footwear, and there is no residue or clean up needed. It is also a non-corrosive ice melter – it will not damage the surface it is applied to. Instead, it creates a protective coating on the surface.

For people with pets that are going to be dealing with snow and ice, Paw Thaw is one of the best options.

Available in a 12 lb. jug or a 25 lb. bag
